Burnt Mountain Workday-April 16th

View from Burnt Mountain

It is the Mission of Burnt Mountain Center to advocate and provide services and support to those with disabilities and their families that enhance their quality of life and help them discover and move toward their own desirable personal futures while providing needed help in ways that protect and promote valued experiences for them now.

They are having the building pressure-washed in preparation for an upcoming national certification, which supports their funding efforts. Our project will support their recertification.

Project Scope:

  • Prune and trim perimeter shrubs

  • Remove leaves and winter debris

  • Refresh beds with existing on-site mulch

  • Apply weed killer prior to the event (I’ll handle this)

  • Plant shrubs/flowers at the entrance, monument sign, and side beds

  • Prep raised bed for a vegetable garden (weed and fertilizer)

  • Repair and repaint monument sign (I’ll manage with a helper)

  • Repaint picnic benches in the side garden ( They will provide the paint/brushes)

Optional  (headcount dependent):

  • Treat and repaint rusted black pipe railing; rust inhibitor on event day, paint on day two. I’ll register to support the painting day on Friday/Saturday, if there’s sufficient interest.

I’ve taken photos to support planting recommendations, and task planning will send those laterof event here
